Through regular Coach doors, so basically enters the "lounge" then can choose to drive if he wants by rotating the front seat.

How would the driver access the car?

Seems you have to be a bit patient with the AVI file or my internet is just playing up a bit! thanks for all the feedback so far!

In all of your boards some of the text is too small to read.. dont know why is that..
Also you will have to have a very wide car to be able to rotate seats.. dont know how that would work.. Anyway, waiting to see development sketches :)

I am also inspired by this B&W Speaker, and trying to transform the shape on my steering wheel

Thank you very much for the kind words Mr Bell, I was trying to consider the fact, of visual connection while speaking, but also the fact of sound pollution and interference. Currently im Sketching, the interior, as you can imagine, from my moodboards, im looking for something organic with a surface tension or control. At the moment, im thinking a table/crib in the middle with a chaiselong style, organic flower pedal style looking thing linking with the "crib/table" crossover. Should have some sketching up soon, as the other element of the design is to create openess, and step away from the "typical" chassis contraints. So gonna do a special reinforced body, with a reforced floor, where the floor and seating are moulded from one piece to increase strength.
Thanks again for the feedback!

I like your imagery and moodboard overall, how are you doing on your design? Can't wait to see it

I'm interested in this layout, in my view it gets to the heart of what a lounge should be - everyone can talk and - importantly - make eye contact with one another

Thank you for the comment, Im working on the mood-boards as we speak - I cant wait to start sketching, but so far, i thought having a solid concept, before getting carried away on the sketching part - but seems ive got carried away with the research part a bit now... Ill start uploading sketching shortly.

Next step for me is to create mood boards, to get an idea of materials, design - functionalities, layouts amongst other things.

I want to add the idea if a Safety cell, creating seats or a layout around every seat, which becomes a safety cocoon to its individual occupant. This would allow for more of an split layout as we are focusing on individuals rather then a group of 3 or four depending on the backbench seat layout.

Secondly looking at architecture, it is very common to use, glass or transparant materials to create openness and light within an area. This was a key part of my ideation, but to do this, it would require a different type of structural approach to a car. As the current monocoque chassis would block large amounts of light - and due to current users are used to A B or C pillars boxing them in, it would open up a lot if we could remove these structural supports or integrate them in a different way.

As for privacy, it would be a important either to block of view of the lower section of the car, or be able to control transparency within this material to create privacy when needed.

Children Relate to sound, and even just singing something random to them, makes them relate to you. ABC songs amongst other things help children to learn. Personally, I was brought up with playing music, and it has always been an important part of my life. Looking at how it helped me to learn things, pick up skills amongst other things - It is important. And even if the children do not understand the song, they just become happy and dance a bit, or become sleepy and have a rest - to really simplify matters.

The public environment, affects our personal space, yet due to its sound and we psychically cannot see it, we tend to ignore this. Yet silence is important, and it does cultivate many things within us and is important for us as people to develop.

Living in a city, we experience noise, complaints, horns spreading their loud sounds through the air, irritating us from the morning - yet as we get used to it we tend to ignore it and thereby channel it out. Channeling out sounds from the environment also means we tend to ignore something which might save us one day in the future. Thats why, if only important noise by choice, could be filtered into the cabin, our focus would increase on that - thereby increasing concentration and awareness and acting as a feature. When not driving it would provide a silent, calm sanctuary, thereby not influencing the users soundscape, and letting him or her decide upon how their mood should be, instead of a public environment.

The first point of interest for me was to find out, what people do in the free time, as this is probably the time a lounge is used, and what specific genders do to relax and unwind. As we are trying to create a comfort environment it is important to understand what a current lounge is used for, before we design a moveable one.

Thank you both for your feedback, I have a lot more for this project, but due to certain current time problems, I havnt uploadet them yet.. hopefully soon you will get a more detailed and specific direction where I want to go. As said this is the very initial brainstorm, and I did make the format of the file a bit too large or the text to small to convey my message, as i maybe thought you would be able to click to view full size - but oh well! hopefully the next few boards will help the explanation with details such as, specific user, timescale, how it will become a transport experience and much more.

The idea behind my concept was to challenge the fact of sound in our vehicles and see what impacts it would have on users to be able to isolate them selves. The inspiration came of not only alternative energies, but also, of the bat. Quite interesting how they through hair on their wings, which are connected to Merkel cells, can sense/feel airflow, and adapt their flight for optimization. Material development, nano technology should enable cars to become more adaptive and clever to sensory information. Terms such as "soundscaping" help users to experience the surroundings through the sound waves of music, flavouring through music.
