Here is an image that I made for fun towards the end of this project. The sharp eyed among you will see a couple of references to Back to the Future. :D

Hey Mohammed!
Do you think you could use a bit less blur in your final renders, so that the model would look more real and life size? Because I have a feeling, that it looks a bit small (like a toycar) and as though it was shot in "macro". And its always good to communicate shape with reflections, but overdoing it can produce a confusing result... Setting values down a bit will show your design more clearly, and that is why i prefer the renders with a car in silver...
Otherwise i think its a great design, and i can only say thumbs up for thinking your concept through so much, and implementing so many new ideas to it. Rear external speakers are wicked! :D

Hey thanks Matic. I see what you mean about the blur. I was actually going for the macro look. :D. To communicate form I have the silver 3d renders and the photoshop and pencil sketches. I also have an animation coming so stay tuned for that!

This is one example I have made of using small features that gives nods to what the opel/vauxhall brand has done before.

10Mohammed 25th Apr 2012 | 8:01
I made it so the the iconic Opel grille piece sits behind the glass surface. In that way it opens up methods for the user to uniquely customize their vehicle through glowing Augmented Reality graphics and animations and give a heightened sense of the brand itself.

The virtual speedometer is a feature that allows for freeing up of space in the interior. I designed it so that the speedometer can be easily read by electrochromatically darkening the glass surrounding it and by using the depth cameras to ensure that the meter displays are always oriented to your line of sight.

I employ the use of depth cameras to read movements and interactions from the users and for the vehicle to contextualize its surroundings. The cameras are housed in a glowing illumination unit to provide lighting for the cameras.

With the advent of electric vehicles it is now viable to have a transparent panel in the place of the bonnet/hood. This was previously impossible due to all the pollution and grime that emits from a working engine obstructing the view. Electric motors provide zero emissons and are very clean to run. This design allows people to take a peek into the workings of the car. The surface sitting over the motor will be overlayed with relevant info pertaining to motor's up keep and energy stats. What if I crash? You might ask. The surface will be made of a material that will not shatter like glass but will just deform in an plastic manner.

The design has an LCD screen covering the rear wheel. The screen doen't exist to simply help with aerodynamics but serves as a novel point of customization and information for the user to exploit. The screen can provide data on things like tyre pressure and tyre wear and apart from having informational uses it can be programmed with fun animations to communicate different states of the car for people to view.

The key focal point of my design both visually and functionally is the single-piece greenhouse interface and information surface. I believe it is a revolutionary approach to providing ambient data as well as an intuitive method of using that data. ( I will detail more on the subject later)

Hello! I have my final render up. I will start tagging comments to the image to explain it further tomorrow. Sit tight, I still have a bit more to submit. In the mean time I would love some feedback. Whoo!

Hey guys. Here is a link to the Advert that formed one of my key inspirations for the exterior :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DP89iMe0BY

Here is my final direction for the exterior. Whats innovative about my design is that the rear, the roof and the front wind shield are made from one piece of touch sensitive see-through LED glass. I will show how I plan to use this upcoming submissions. Even the opel grille/emblem will be digitally displayed in fun and unique ways and not acutually a physical component. The rear wheel window is not actually transparent but also an led screen that allows for interesting customizable representations of the tyre, such as a flaming tyre or a man running on the rotating tyre.

Hey guys, I have decided to get started on an exterior model and will post updates of my progress here. :D

Mohammed 6th Apr 2012 | 15:36
In the coming days I will post up the next set design sketches as well as the key sketch that helped inspire the final design.

Here is my first set of exploratory sketches from my first concept. This design was done before I nailed down my concept sheets and personas. It has a window underneath the side dlo to illuminate the interior even further and a window covering the rear wheel to improve the aerodynamics and still provide a view of wheel.

At the very top of my submissions is an animation that I produced. If you are having a hard time viewing the video on the site then please visit the video link on youtube at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMrVmIEtviI
Please read the rest of my comments starting from the bottom to get a better idea of what my design is about.
